4 of Poker’s Nice Pros
May 10th, 2020 by Deacon

Literally millions and millions of players strive to be the next "mega star" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more famous "great pros" of poker. Even though "nice" is associated with their names when you are playing them it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have removed you out of the competition!

Daniel Negreanu

In 2004, his competition earnings amounted to in excess of 4.4 million dollars and he came away with 2 immensely respected awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was appointed Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. He even still has the decency to talk to his admirers about how they could advance their own game.

Howard Lederer

Called "The Professor" and sibling of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His achievements have lead to him making an instructional poker video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and co hosting a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of 2005, his total life earnings exceed 2.7 million dollars.

Scotty Nguyen

Scotty is 1 of the most active players in professional poker and between Two Thousand to 2004 he placed in the money in well over one hundred events. He is noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker games and also credited with the phrase "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a especially bad beat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his life time earnings are almost six million dollars.

Chris Ferguson

Chris has captured five World Series of Poker titles with two of his successes coming in 2003. Has the nickname "Jesus" due to his characteristic long hair and beard, and is able to throw cards quick enough to slice through bananas and pickles. As of 2005 his total poker tourney winnings exceeded five million dollars.
