Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to achieve last poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best bettors anywhere in the world. While competing in net poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He often participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The best players in the world could be players you have never heard of before. Gus can be seen playing internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally participates in high stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in money games?
