NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup every little thing he possibly could about poker. He would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the strongest poker players in the world.

He started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an eternal passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his success. He knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
