Caribbean Poker Rules and Tips
June 1st, 2026 by Deacon

Internet poker has become world famous recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years many variations on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the dealer broadcasting "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the different gamblers acquire five cards each. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you have to in turn make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s amount is equal to your beginning bet, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your bet goes immediately to the dealer. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with an amount on par with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The casino pony’s up cash equal to your bet and set odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
